We want to give a huge thank you to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) for their support through the recent SWAP grant cycle! 🙌
Because of this funding, we were able to purchase new equipment for our store, including pallet trucks, carts, and a lift table. These tools help our staff and volunteers move donations more safely and efficiently every single day.

Destiny is the ReStore Department Manager at Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity. In her role, she oversees daily retail operations, leads and develops staff and volunteers, manages donations and inventory, and ensures the ReStore stays organized and welcoming 🛍️
Destiny’s favorite part of her job is knowing that the work she does helps build homes for families in our community 🏡 One mission moment that continues to inspire her was helping a new homebuyer at the ReStore work toward their sweat equity hours for their future home. 🤝
If Destiny were an item in the ReStore, she would be a piece of furniture—because she believes in transformation and second chances, just like the items we sell ♻️
Outside of work, Destiny enjoys spending quality time with her son, creating meaningful memories, and focusing on personal growth ❤️

ReStore Volunteer of the Month ⭐
Larry has been a dedicated volunteer for the past four years, his first year on the construction side and the last three at the ReStore. 🏠🔨
He’s always eager to help, whether guiding shoppers, receiving donations, or repairing items. 😊
Larry retired from Waterloo Industries as a computer systems analyst and enjoys spending time with his family. 👨👩👧👦
